You could say we had some interesting cross country around the state to open the 2014 season. And if you did say that, you would not find many folks inclined to argue the point.

It's not every weekend that Grand Junction hosts the chilliest and wettest cross country meet in the state. In fact, that's probably a phenomenon you can count on one hand since Colorado has had high school cross country. 

Grand Junction has been something less than a hotbed of interesting courses in this millennium and Central coach Ted Leblow set out to write a new chapter in that story. Little did he know he would get some serious editorial help in that effort from the meteorological conditions. Leblow discussed the course conditions following the race:
