For the Colorado teams that made the trip down to Albuquerque this weekend, the waters tested proved to be fast and deep. And, it's not just that there's been a lot of rain in New Mexico the last couple of months. It's more that many of the top New Mexico teams have been busy getting better over the summer.
None of those teams, however, proved to be the equal of Jonathan Dalby's Vista Nation. Running a typically patient race, the Golden Eagles picked and squirmed their way through a very large field and very tight corridors left by the crush of fans lining the course. Well over 200 entries toed the starting line in the varsity boys race, giving Mountain Vista their second consecutive week of large meet experience. They have passed both tests with flying colors.
