Coaches: Filling out Your Schedule

A quick course on all the things you need to be able to do as a coach.

It's simple to add a schedule for the season to your team page. Here's how...

These instructions assume that you are logged in, registered in the system as a coach for your team, and at your team page to begin with.

From your team page, click on the black Team Manager button beneath the school name. This takes you to the admin side of your team page. On the left side of your team page, you'll see a Schedule/Results option on the left side. Click there.

This takes you to the Edit Schedule page. The correct school year should already be selected, but, if not, you can easily select the correct one.

Presumably, if you've not done this before, there are few or no meets scheduled on your page (sometimes, a host school enters all the teams for their meet on the meet page and this will populate that meet on your team page without you needing to lift a finger) for the upcoming season.

To add a meet to your schedule, simply scroll down to the Add Meet to Schedule portion of the page. Click on the date box and select the date for which you wish to add a meet to your schedule. If the state is for some state other than Colorado, select the proper state.

Then click on Find Meets. This will bring up a list of all meets for that date currently in the system. Click on the down arrow in the Meet dropbox to display a list of all meets in the system for that date and select the meet you wish to add to your calendar.

Please note: Adding a meet to your calendar on your team page is not the same as being actually entered in the meet. To take care of actually entering the meet, you must contact the host school (see information listed on meet page) and be accepted into the meet by the host school.

Then, click on the Add Meet to Schedule button and that meet will be added to your team's schedule on Colorado Track XC. Repeat for as many meets as you wish to add to your schedule.

If you are entered in a meet that is not listed on the calendar and you wish to add that meet to your schedule, please send me and e-mail (see lower left corner of any Colorado Track XC page for the e-mail address), giving me the name and date of the meet. I can then add the meet to the calendar. It's a little cleaner on the backside, and easier to ensure I have all the necessary information, if I add the meet to the calendar.

That's it! That's all you need to know to fill out a team schedule on Colorado Track XC.

One of the benefits of adding a team schedule to Colorado Track XC is that I am in the process of adding physical addresses for all venues in the state. When you or a parent clicks on a meet name on your schedule, there will then be a link on the venue name at the top of the meet page. Click on the venue link and a Google map will be displayed for the venue!

Note: If you are a high school cross country coach and know the address of your cross country course, that is information that is often difficult for me to come by. Please send that address to me and I will affix it to the venue so that the Google mapping is available for cross country venues as well.
