It's a well-known and commonly accepted practice to head to warmer places early in the season. Pueblo's Dutch Clark Stadium is traditionally one of the warmest.

And, if you had left a slightly green banana in the stands during the morning of yesterday's Banana Belt Classic, it probably would have been nicely browned--if that's how you like bananas--by afternoon. The chill of the morning gave way to a glorious day for sprinters, jumpers, and throwers.

And, honestly, it wasn't that bad of a day for distance, either, though the warmth factor may have brought a bit more in the way of adversity for them.

Finding freedom in the warmth, top times on the season were posted by Christian Lyon at 100 meters (10.90), Tevin Donnell in the 200 (22.10), Fountain-Fort Carson in the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x800 (42.47, 1:27.92, and 8:10.66), and Conor Bertles in the discus (157-0). And, ...
