The typical wilderness survival class contains a section on how to survive an encounter with a predator. If you live in Colorado, you most likely know how to survive an encounter with a bear or a mountain lion or a mean moose.

If you happen to travel to a stadium in Fort Collins during track season, you may leave wishing you knew a thing or two about how to survive an encounter with an Impala or a Lambkin. These normally demure animals seem to change their state of mind completely, to downright ravenous, when they head to a track meet. Such was the case on Friday at the 27th edition of the Poudre Invitational.

The meet had something of an unorthodox start as the timing system went down during the girls 4x800. The net result of this was that the girls 4x800 teams all received no time and the first leg of the boys 4x800 all ended up having to run twice.
