If you have trouble imagining Lily Tomasula-Martin running 22:50 on a 4.7K course, you have trouble imagining mountain running. The rigors of the course are what mountain running is all about, and Tomasula-Martin was a continent away in Snowdonia, North Wales, for the World Junior Mountain Running Championships.

The Junior Women's race was won by Alaska's Allie Ostrander in 19:44, helping to lead the USA to a silver medal team finish.

Ben Butler completed the 8.9K Junior Men's course in ninth place at 36:49. Once again, an Alaskan headed the USA contingent, with Levi Thomet finishing second in 35:50.

As it was with the women, the USA Junior Men came home with a silver medal team performance.
