It has been nearly two years since Monfort Park saw any
cross country foot traffic. That was the fateful night in October 2013 when the Frontier Academy boys perfect scored 3A Region 4. At least for now, there would
be no repeat of that performance as the Wolverines decided to pull back on the
reins for their home invitational after returning from a jaunt out of state
the previous weekend.
Without
Frontier Academy's varsity in the fold, there was a slew of powerful 2A and 3A
teams waiting in the wings to seize the moment. Since this course is once again
going to be the site of 3A Region 4, there was a nice showing of teams planning
a return trip next month as well as some local small school teams looking for a
good test.
