Last year, the Lyons trio of CeAnn Udovich, Sierra Tucker, and Jenna Anderson claimed the state title. But, in the intervening year, Anderson graduated and Udovich has had to take the long way back from a serious injury.

Lyons, while not entirely out of contention, is a long way from being a favorite to repeat.

Last year, it was Telluride who finished second to Lyons, and the Miners didn't graduate a soul off that state team. In fact, the Miners added Maya Ordonez who has contributed in a big way. But, Telluride isn't most people's favorite to take state.

Favorite status falls this year on the shoulders of Heritage Christian Academy. The Eagles have been close before, but they are running far better this year than any of the three previous years of the Rairdon Distance Tour.
