In this next-to-last look at scoring the state meet by regions, we put 3A Girls under the microscope.
Here is what scoring the team places at state by region looks like for 3A Girls (the number in parentheses in the end is the number of teams from other regions that placed behind the last-place team at state from that region):
3A Region 1 (Western Slope): 7-9-11-14-16 = 57 (4)
3A Region 2 (Southeastern): 1-4-17-19-20 = 61 (0)
3A Region 3 (Denver Metro): 2-3-5-6-12 = 28 (8)
3A Region 4 (Northeastern): 8-10-13-15-18 = 64 (2)
In this analysis, Region 3 stands head-and-shoulders above the other 3A regions in strength. It likely all changes next year with new alignments, but Region 3 was the one to be in this year if you wanted to get roughed up a little.
