Note: My apologies for the delay in the article, but I very much did need a set of results to provide the kind of detail needed in this article.

Despite the AFC Championship game appearance of the Denver Broncos, the Tony Wells Memorial went on. Not a few mobile devices were tuned in to the game, however.

Still, on the floor of the Cadet Field House, it was all about track and field--and some very nice performances were packed into the shorter-than-usual afternoon.

We have already mentioned Max Manson's pole vault showcase. The official English conversion on Manson's winning clearance was 14-1.25, which gives every indication of being a best-ever clearance by a Colorado freshman. And, the mark does have him better than a foot ahead of the field in the national freshman pole vault rankings.

But, Manson was far from the only show on the floor.
