Where Are We This Year Versus Last Year's State-Qualifying Standards? 2A Girls

Although Taylor Alexander has snared most of the headline, Lyons' Brenna Kuskie has been having a very good year at the 2A pole vault pit as well. Photo by Alan Versaw.

It will take a few days for this series to run its course across all five classifications and both genders for each classification, but we'll press through even so. Count on seeing these at the rate of about two per day until we're done.

The idea here is simple--to measure where performances are to-date this year versus last year's minimum mark to make the top 18. In the table below, you will see each 2A Girls event, the #18 mark from last spring (sometimes there was a scratch or two in the top 18 so someone may have made it to state with a lesser mark, but I'm going to assume here that we're all most interested in what it takes to make the top 18), and the current #18 mark for 2A Girls. And, you'll see this updated a time or two during the season as well.

You can see that none of this year's #18s have attained last year's state-qualifying standard, but by the next time we take a look at this, you can be relatively sure that will no longer be the case.
