This year will be the third running of the Colorado High School Coaches Association All-State Cross Country race. As the two previous installments have, this one, too, will start and finish in Alamosa's Cole Park.

The biggest difference about this year's race is the number of participants. After two years of struggling some with numbers, this year's fields are large enough to break into two boys and two girls teams. We can be hopeful that the event has taken hold and will continue to grow in following years.

Competing in the girls race will be Breanna and Sydney Clayton of Roosevelt, Mackenzie Dill of Highland, Makayla Garcia, Maria Montes, Faith Stults, and Angelina Riggs of Sargent, Alyssa Settles of Lamar, Sydney Fesenmeyer of Salida, and Cori Small of Elizabeth. Competing in the boys race will be Russell Orris and Taylor Stack of Salida, Kaleb Crum, Matthew Hartshorn, and Cole Hiigel of Lamar, Brandon Sheard and Isaac Yoder of Eagle Valley, Ro Paschal of Mancos, Isaac Bernatchez of Sterling, Jake Boss of Elizabeth, Logan Sessums of Sargent, and Conner Shaver of Fort Morgan.

Racing begins at 9 AM with the girls race. The boys race will follow at 9:30.

Colorado Track XC will be on hand for coverage of this farewell event for our graduating seniors.
