For four years running, Mountain Vista has come out triumphant at the 5A Boys state cross country race. As someone who's been close to this kind of phenomenon before, I can tell you that the momentum does eventually fade, but I'm not seeing the strong indicators that would suggest this is the year.
But, that it not to say that the rest of 5A isn't rising to meet the challenge. In fact, you can find evidences of rising to meet the challenge in several different programs around the state. It just takes a while to erode the edges off the kind of advantage Mountain Vista has built.
