Colorado High School Cross Country Loses One of Its Own

With tremendous sadness, we note the passing of Peak to Peak senior Brandon Ries.

Ries was competing in yesterday's Broomfield Invitational when he started walking and collapsed late in the race. He was rushed to the hospital but did not respond to efforts to revive him.

While his passing has already touched a very large segment of the Colorado high school cross country community, it touches the Peak to Peak team and school family in a particularly difficult way.

Coach Kim McConnell, in a brief conversation with Colorado Track XC, indicated that grieving has already begun in a positive manner, "The team has been incredible. There has been a lot of coming together."
