Alex Murphy ranks highly among freshmen nationally in the 800, and probably would be in the national top 20 in the mile, too, but for the rigors of running the mile in the Cadet Field House.
As a disclaimer on this article, I've made every possible attempt to identify all Colorado freshmen, and their schools, who would represent the state in the national indoor rankings. The truth of the matter, though, is that it isn't always easy--or even possible--to know who all is a freshman and what school they belong to from indoor results.
