A lot of us have been itching to see what Anna Hall can do in a pentathlon competition. The moment for that arrives next week.
In a little over a week, a small, though potent, Colorado delegation will be flying to the Big Apple for the big enchilada of indoor track and field--New Balance Nationals Indoor.
Widely regarded as the national championship of high school indoor track and field, NBNI draws top athletes from across the nation, but especially from states with an established indoor season (meaning mostly Eastern seaboard states). This year is no different. And Colorado's small delegation will be seeking to make a mark though, as usual, vastly outnumbered in the ranks.
A tentative listing (it's easy to miss needles in this haystack) of Colorado entries includes:
60 Meters - Taylor Watson, Audra Koopman, Devin Cadena
800 Meters - Hannah Freeman
2 Miles - Brie Oakley
5000 Meters - Brie Oakley
60 Meter Hurdles - Kylie Davis
Pole Vault - Mia Manson, Max Manson, Corbin Mayes
Long Jump - Audra Koopman
Triple Jump - Aumni Ashby, Sydnee Larkin
Pentathlon - Anna Hall
Freshman 60 Meters - Abigail Tamminga
Meet action begins on March 10 and continues through March 12. Results will be updated on the MileSplit network as they become available. There is definitely potential for a couple of national titles falling in the direction of Colorado athletes.
