Brie Oakley ended all the speculation with a resounding, "Yes!"
Oakley smashed the existing national indoor record, the Armory record, and the meet record all in one with a 15:55.75 over 5000 meters.
Give that one a while to soak in.
Second place was a monstrous 52 seconds back. The domination was even more complete than Oakley's win at NXN last December.
Oakley, however, wasn't the only Colorado athlete competing today, though it may seem like it for a while.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Maya Evans long jumped today with the Emerging Elite flights. Officially, her mark goes down as an exhibition athlete as she does not properly belong to the EE field, but she did not compete with the Championship field.
In any case, Evans jumped 19-3.25 to close out her indoor season.
Abigail Tamminga was originally entered in the Emerging Elite division but did not compete today.
