2017 Pueblo Twilight: Highlights Day And Night

More Fun Under The Sun

Frank Nash may have had the biggest day, but he wasn't the only one having fun under the sun.

TCA's Erika Willis used the splash of warmth to push her pole vault PR to 12-8.

Bayfield's Carl Heide swung for the fences and connected--twice. Heide won the 110s in 15.09 (-0.8) and then came back in the 300s to complete the job with a 39.60.

Pueblo East's Luc Andrada ran the first 400 of his high school career and took the win in 50.71.

Oscar Martinez and Josh Ramos staged one of the day's most memorable duels, splitting 59-57 in the 800 to both dip under 1:57. Martinez took the win in 1:56.86. Both left the track with newly-minted PRs. And, as both Martinez and Ramos hail from the 3A classification, it could be that we just watched a preview of the state meet race for 3A Boys.

Bayfield's Jordan Lanning continued her high jump victory tour with a winning leap of 5-5. Lanning added 100 hurdles and triple jump titles to her daily take.

Lamar's Haley Bender added a very solid 40-6 winner in the shot put ring.
