It didn't take long for Mason Finley, pictured above from last spring's Colorado state meet, to put his imprint on a new season.
With a throw of 68-0 at the first Colorado All-Comers Indoor meet of the season at Boulder's Balch Field House, Finley has already eclipsed his best throws of 2008. The big throw was his second throw in the series and followed a 64-foot heave on the first attempt. Subsequent throws ranged in the vicinity of 64 to 65 feet but went unmeasured as he tapped the toeboard on those throws to take as intentional fouls.
Some other event winners of note included Emily Blok in the 60 (7.78) and 300 (41.95), Adrienne Lettow in the shot put (37-6.5), Kyle Macintosh in the 300 (35.44), and Tashaun Hill in the 60 hurdles (8.02).
