Now that we're a month into the season, and with just over a month to go, we've seen nearly everyone's cards. 

So, what do we know as of September 18?

Chloe Veilleux is out to recapture the state title... 

The Soroco senior won the big dance as a sophomore, but finished sixth last year. Of her four races this season she's nabbed one win, and never finished worse than third. The way I read this is that she's got the competitive fire in her belly to make it a race, wherever and whenever. 

Her 19:52 from St. Vrain tops the list as the fastest in 2A, and it was a time that would've put her within the top 10 of the 4A/5A race. 

There's an art to winning - or competing for the win - and Veilleux has proven to be eager in perfecting her craft so far this season. She is the runner to beat.

But she's not alone. 

Dawson sophomore Lucca Fulkerson finished 16 second behind her at St. Vrain, and like Veilleux, she's beeing busy putting together a stellar season of her own. Fulkerson has raced three times ...
