Q) Talk about the recruitment process - what other schools were you looking at, and how did you come to choosing Furman?

The recruiting process basically started on September 1st of my junior year. I took unofficial visits to many different schools and narrowed it down to my top five schools this summer. Furman actually was not on my radar until really late in the process but once things started rolling it was very clear it was a special place that I had to check out! I ended up only taking official visits to Northern Arizona and Duke before I visited Furman. When I visited Furman it was clear how incredibly unique the coaching staff and the team culture are. Coach Rita is exactly what I was looking for in a coach and I was extremely impressed by how each athlete is valued individually. Furman also has very unique academic opportunities and will be the perfect place for me to pursue my goals on and off the track.

Q) What do you plan to study at Furman?

I want to be a veterinarian so I will be studying Biology and likely will double major with Biology and Spanish.

Q) You've had an success in everything from the 800 up to 5kwhat are you planning to focus on at Furman?

The most exciting thing about next next is getting to try new events and see where my speciality is. I might even try the Steeple!

Q) Could you share any goals you have for the upcoming track season?

I am super excited about track season and just want to stay healthy and strong. Our 4x800m has some big goals and I cannot wait to see what we can accomplish in our last high school season!

Q) What would your favorite high school moment be (so far)?

The past four years have all had incredible moments but I think my favorite would be going 1-2-3 with my teammates last year at state cross country and winning our second state title.
