Joel Nyatusah is the top returner in the 110 hurdles

We've got a handful of epic battles brewing in 5A this year...

With Valor Christian moving up, there will be a slew of matchups that include 4A state champs verses 5A state champs for the title of 2019 state champ. 

In the sprints there appears to be a two-way battle for dominance between Elijah Williams and Marcus Miller. Williams is the top returner in the 100 and the 200. He placed second in the 200, so it's likely he'll be wanting to take that final step up to the top of the podium next year. And if there's anyone who can keep pace, it'll be Miller. He's the No. 2 returner in both events. Miller's best chance for a state title may in the 400, however, as he is the top returner, just ahead of Williams. 

The 800 is where things are slightly up in the air. David Cardenas is the top returner, but he'll have his hands full with Tesamichael Wolde. Both ran 1:56 at the state meet, with Cardenas four-hundredths of a second ahead.
