Five Bold Predictions For The Season Ahead

Valor Christian Girls Claim The 5A State Title

A year ago the Valor Christian girl's team dominated the state in 4A.

That 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 hurdles of Anna HallDestiny Grimes, and Lizzie Waters on the final day of competition was somewhat of a prelude of the final tally, but what sets Valor up to perhaps do the unthinkable and claim the 5A state title this year is their insane depth.

They won 4A last year with performances that would've rivaled 5A. It's a depth that spans all the events needed to win another state title.

In addition to The Anna Hall, Grimes, and Waters, there's Camille Peisner in the sprints, Jane Powers and Joy Gerow in the throws, Sadie McMullen in the long jump, and Keely Jones and Taylor Whitfield in the distance events.

And of course Hall's name comes as many, because she's clearly got the potential to score in, if not win, the 200, 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles, 800, high jump, long jump, and the shot put.

Can Hall score 40 points at State? Perhaps that's the additional "Bold Prediction" next to this one of Valor Christian winning the 5A state title a year after winning 4A.
