One of the fastest 2 mile cross country races run this fall launches off the starting line Friday afternoon in Highlands Ranch. And while it's a rare distance to race during the fall, what makes the Vista Nation XC 2 Mile Invitational an ideal race to look at is the fact that it's consistently been the season-opener for the state's best runners and teams.
In other words: the meet has become a good benchmark. It's the cross country version of a Broadway Off-Broadway show, because it's got all the talent of a state meet, but a few months early.
After scanning the list of this year's competitors, it looks like we could have a big re-write of this list...
