Dashing Performances At D'Evelyn

Cale Schafer wasted no time Saturday morning.

The Valley senior clearly preferred to run on without a shadow. Schafer was the runaway victor in the boy's D2 race, clearing the field by nearly 30 seconds. He won the race outright in 17:37, beating Lutheran's Ty Schauer, who ran 18:01.

And then the Parker squad took over...

Lutheran packed two more inside the Top 10, including Charles Dennis and Ben Sparling, who finished sixth and ninth. And ultimately it was their massive pack that sealed the deal for their squad, as they put their entire top seven inside the top 15, going 12-13-14-15. They tallied 42 points for the win.

D'Evelyn finished second with 76, just one point ahead of Machebeuf, who scored 77.
