For the second-consecutive week weather washed away any chances of a dropping a big performance on Saturday.
It's strange to think that we've got two-and-a-half weeks to the Colorado State Championships...
The clock is ticking...
Weather didn't just torpedo Saturday's meets - it torpedoed this week's edition of MileSplit Shorts...
Despite no lyrical play with words, there were still some standout performances we'll recap.
Like Heidi Nielsen's state-leading 11.89 in the 100 from the Colorado Springs All City Meet. That's not only a 3A No. 1, or an All-Classification No. 1, it's a personal best for Nielson by two-tenths-of-a-second.
On the topic of state-leading marks, Mikey Munn added the 400 to his resume. He ran 47.68 at the Weld County Championships to be the first Coloradan to dip under 48-seconds this outdoor season. Munn currently leads the state in the 100, 200, and the 400.
On the east coast Addison Ritzenhein destroyed the 3,000 field at the The Penn Relays.
And when I write "destroyed," I mean she literally torched the field early and soloed a 9:17, which was the third-fastest ever by a sophomore, and just off the Penn Relays meet record.
