It's been a year to the day since the 2019 edition of the Broomfield Shootout...
On This Day Taylor James put a cap on what was at the time one of her biggest breakthrough weeks.
The Niwot junior (sophomore at the time) dropped the fastest 800 in the state, which was No. 4 in the country at the St. Vrain RE-1J Meet. Two days later she solidified herself as one of the best middle-distance runners in the country by dropping a 54.72 400 for the win at the Broomfield Shootout - watch the race above!
At the time of this race, she owned PRS of:
100 - 12.38 (2019 - CO No. 5)
200 - 25.07 (2019 - CO No. 1)
400 - 54.72 (2019 - CO No. 1 / US No. 6)
800 - 2:10.68 (2019 - CO No. 1 / US No. 4)
1,600 - 5:10
5k - 17:37

We caught up with James following her 54.72 at Broomfield, and she had some insights to her recent step down in distance.
