The Colorado State T&F Championships 1A Preview

Wesley Ryan could leave Lakewood with a lot of gold later this week.

The De Beque senior is the top-seed in quite a few events, starting with the 100. Ryan heads to Jeffco with the fastest (legal) time of 11.52. Kyle Fryrear has run a wind-aided 11.42, and should challenge, along with Jaden Jordan

Meanwhile, Cade Mitchek looks like an early favorite in the 200. He's run 23.36 this season, which leads the field by about half-a-second. Chorbin Cressler, and Ryan could challenge.

The 400 looks like it could be a good race.

Lincoln Reynolds heads to Jeffco with the top-seed - the lone sub-54 clocking - of 53.90. Additionally, Jacob JeffersonSamuel Lundy have run under 54.30.

Trevor Lewis is a big favorite to sweep the mid-distances.

He's the top seed in the 800 by nine-seconds. He's run 1:59.61 this season. He'll likely have a challenger in the 1,600, however. Jack Nauman has run 4:44.27, which is just four-seconds behind Lewis' 4:40.54 seed.

And as dominate as Lewis looks in the 800, Nauman does in the 3,200.

The Heritage Christian sophomore is a clear favorite to claim the event. He's run 10:06, which is about 28-seconds ahead of the field.

Ryan has another shot at gold in the high jump, and the long jump. The De Beque senior's 6-7 high jump tops the field by five-inches. Additionally, his 21-3.5 long jump is the only mark over 21-feet in the event this season.

Meanwhile, Josiah Murphy and Maverik Mertens could make for a good battle in the triple jump. Murphy has cleared 42-feet this season, landing with a 42-4 best, while Mertens has leapt 41-6.

Likewise, the pole vault looks like a two-man battle between Brady Kuntz and Grayson Pachner. Kunts owns the top-seed with a 13-1 clearance this season, while Pachner is the No. 2 seed with a 12-9 best.

In the shot put John Hainer stands on his own. The Granada sophomore has tossed 47-8, which is nearly seven-feet beyond his nearest competitor.

On the other side of the spectrum, the discus looks like it'll be a little closer.

Erik Lebsock heads to Jeffco as the top seed with a toss of 132-0, while Titus Glanz, and Jarrett Johnson are within five-feet. Glanz is the No. 2 seed with a 128-3 season-best, while Johnson has tossed 127-7.

In the team competition Heritage Christian looks like an early favorite, doing most of their points-gathering in the distance events and the relays. De Beque could make a battle of it, however, with Ryan and Lewis.
