Blazing At The Liberty Bell Invitational


Ella Hagen picked up win No. 2 of her high school career in the girl's D2 race. 

As per the trend, the Summit freshman picked off boys from the back-end of the race, and crossed the finish line in 18:15.

Sydney Morrell took second in 18:50, while Anne Reilly was third in 18:58.

Cheyenne Mountain took the team race with 64 points, while Silver Creek was second with 77. George Washington was third with 127.

Meanwhile Connor McCormick and Andreas O'Malley made it a Longmont 1-2 in the boy's race. McCormick took the win here, running 15:20 - a time that would've placed eighth in the Sweepstakes race. O'Malley was just seven seconds back in 15:27, which also would've cracked the Top-10 of the Sweepstakes race.

Dominykas Remeikis and Dominic Warner kicked in for a tight finish. Both were clocked at 15:47, though Remekis had the decimals here - .1 to .4.

While Longmont had a 1-2-4 finish, Eagle Valley's pack proved to be the decider in this very tight team race. Eagle Valley took the title with 99 points, which was just ahead of Longmont and Summit's 101. Longmont got the tie-breaker on the sixth-runner to pick up second. 

Meanwhile, Zaila Smith was the runaway winner of the D3 girl's race. The Buena Vista senior nearly cracked 19 minutes, running 19:02. Elle Stevens took second here, running 19:26, which was just ahead of Ella Howe's 19:32. 

Prospect Academy took a title team race, tallying 92 points, while Kent Denver and Falcon were separated by just two points. Kent Denver finished second with 101, while Falcon was third with 103.

The boy's race was came down to the wire, with Evan Keys crossing the finish line ahead of the Bartlett brothers. Keys won the race in 16:49, while Grant Bartlett finished second in 16:54, while his brother Grady Bartlett finished third in 17:02.

Berthoud tallied 84 points to claim the team title, while Lutheran was just six points back with 90. Prospect Academy finished third with 122.
