Patience Pays Off At The Dave Sanders Invitational

Keeping with the theme of patience, Nadhia Campos sat in third through the opening half-mile of the girl's D2 race before dropping the hammer.

The Vanguard freshman raced on to her third consecutive victory of the season, maintaining her undefeated status.

Campos dropped the fastest time of the day, running 18:24.

Nearly a half-a-minute back Sydney Morrell kicked in for second in 18:52, just ahead of Mullen's Amy O'Connell, who finished third in 18:55. Mead's Frances Hudson was just over 19 minutes, running 19:02 for fourth.

Cheyenne Central made it a Wyoming sweep of the D2 races, as their girls won the title with 56 points. Battle Mountain took second with 80, which was just ahead of Mullen's 82.
