Future Stars: Meet Gabriella Cunningham

In this week's edition of Future Stars we'll take a look at recent stand-out sophomore performances...

Colorado: meet Gabriella Cunningham.

The Grandview sophomore recently ran a 25.79 200 at the Dakota Ridge Invitational - that not only leads the sophomore class, but it's a 5A No. 13

The performance was her third class-leading mark - she currently is No. 1 in the 100H with a 14.69, which is a 5A No. 4, and a 45.97 300H, which is a 5A No. 5.

A year ago - her freshmen year - she finished fourth at State in the 100H, and missed the 300H finals.

Aspen Webb - The Chatfield sophomore torched a 58.21 400 at the 5A Jeffco League Relays Qualifier. The time currently leads the sophomore class, and is a 5A No. 6

Elizabeth Brooks - The Cedaredge sophomore won the shot put at the Demon Invitational with a toss of 38-1. The mark leads the sophomore class, and is a 2A No. 3

Isabel Allori - The Liberty Common sophomore ran 5:01.50 in the 1,600 at the Pomona Invitational. This is currently a 3A No. 1 in the event.

Mia Prok - The Niwot sophomore ran 2:13.85 in the 800 at the Boulder County Track Championships. The time is currently a 4A No. 1

Lilly Nichols - Nichols is hardly a "future" star - she's the defending 5A state champion in the pole vault (in other words: she's already a star.) But - she cleared 12-8 at the Boulder County Track Championships, which is a 5A No. 1

Kahari Wilbon - The Cherokee Trail sophomore ran a 50.21 400 personal best at the Mountain Range Mustang Track & Field. This currently leads the sophomore class, and is a 5A No. 11.

Elton Chavez - The John Mall sophomore leapt to a 43-3.7 triple jump at the Rye Thunderbolt Invitational. The mark  is currently a 2A No. 1 in the event.
