The Classical Academy came. Saw. and Conquered.
The Titans swept the team races in the 3A Colorado State Championships, and added the boy's 3A individual title to their banner day.
In the boy's race pre-race favorite Matthew Edwards capped his senior year by reclaiming the 3A state title, clocking 15:20 - a 39-second victory, and a 3A state meet record.
Edwards won this race as a sophomore, and finished third as a junior.
Manitou Springs' Cody Kelley took second in a kick finish over Berthoud's Tate Bothun, Jefferson Academy's Sean Beasley, and Lamar's Cole Krug, who finished in 15:59, 16:01, 16:01, and 16:02.
Unbeknownst to most, TCA was racing without their No. 2 - Nathan Meister.
Despite the setback, the Titans rallied, with Logan Halla finishing sixth in 16:03 to give TCA two inside the top-six.
They put five inside the top-19 to stop the tally at an impressive 48-points.
Berthoud took a tight runner-up finish over Frontier Academy, tallying 81 to 88.
Likewise, the girl's race kept to the script.

Pre-race favorite and defending state champ Isabel Allori dominated the field, running away early and clocking a stellar 17:32.
Stargate senior Allison Pippert put together a great race of her own to capture second, running 17:52.
While the team race appeared tight prior to the gun going off, The Classical Academy wiped away any ideas that this would be a single-digit affair.
After finishing second last year, TCA reclaimed the state title in dominating fashion, tallying 69-points for a 64-point victory.
Freshman Joy Ahnfeldt and senior Cassidy McDonald led the squad, finishing 10-11.
TCA put five inside the top-26, and six inside the top-27.
Peak to Peak peaked at the right time to claim the runner-up spot, tallying 133 points, which was one-point ahead of Holy Family's 134.
