Third time's a charm for Bethany Michalak.
Just as the post-season nationals circuit is heating up, Michalak brought her fire own to Seattle, Wash., where she stormed to victory in the mile at the Brooks PR Invitational.
The Air Academy senior kicked to win in 4:42.37, which was four-tenths-of-a-second ahead of Katherine Bohlke's 4:42.81.
The win marked Michalak's first victory at Brooks PR in her three trips to Seattle. She finished fourth in the mile last year, and sixth in the 2-mile the year before.
While Michalak was making waves in the mile, so was Karamoko Sacko in the 110H.
The Northfield senior showed why he's one of the best hurdlers in the country. Sacko dominated the field, running 13.31 i to win the event by two-tenths-of-a-second, and in a US No. 1.
Several hours earlier Isabel Allori kept her dream season alive. The Liberty Common senior finished third in an insanely fast 2-mile, running 9:50.70. Niwot's Addison Ritzenhein finished seventh in 10:12.
Allie Zealand won the event in 9:40.
In the 100H Grandview's Gabriella Cunningham finished sixth in 13.63.
