Chandler Rotary Invite (AZ)

A trio of Coronado High School boys went on to compete in Arizona, running some of the top times in all of Colorado. Oliver Horton ran 9:07 in the 3200m and 4:15 in the 1600m the next day. Boston Potts ran 9:10 in the 3200m and then went on to run 4:16 in the 1600m. Xzavier Campos opted to race just the 1600m and ran the fastest time of the three running 4:12.

Ayuub Hassan of Northfield High School was close behind Horton in the 3200m, also running 9:07 but just got out-leaned at the line.

Biruk Begashaw of The Lotus School also raced well finishing a couple seconds behind the Coronado boys with a time of 9:12. His time easily puts him #1 in Class 2A.

The freshman, Benjamin Olds of Palmer Ridge High School ran the fastest time of any freshman in the whole nation, racing to a time of 9:16.

Typically, the Rotary Invite is a great place to run some fast times on the distance side, but there were a few other Colorado kids on the sprints side that raced to some great times.

In the 100m/200m, Kiana Cumings of Windsor High School ran the fastest time for Colorado, running 24.63. She also ran 12.24 in the 100m. Rylee Klatt of Mead High School ran 12.24 as well in the 100m but was just a little behind Cumings in the 200m, running 24.81, good for #3 in all of Colorado.

In the 300m hurdles, Jayden Michaelis of Berthoud High School ran the top time in Class 3A, crossing the line in 38.25. Just behind him was Teagan Malcom of Longmont High School running 38.90.

Pine View Invitational (UT)

Moving a state over in Utah, Chaparral high school had a trio of girls race well in the 1600m. Kaylee Ellsworth ran 5:03, followed by Kapri Parry who ran 5:06, and Sky St. Louis who is only a freshman, ran 5:09, putting them within the top 10 rankings in Colorado.
