With only a couple more big meets left on the schedule and a handful of last chance meets, the rankings are starting to solidify for who is in for state. Though there will still be changes over the last week, here are the top 25 in each event for Class 1A. The top 18 declared entries make it in to the big dance next week.
Every class always has their exciting battles and names to look out for and for the girls in Class 1A, Delaney Bond of Cheraw High School has the most interesting track record. In the past she has placed well at the state meet in the hurdles and the middle distance events. Though not a common combination, Bond makes it work. She is currently #1 in the 1600, #1 in the 300m hurdles, #2 in the 800m, #4 in the 100m hurdles, and #5 in the 400m. Obviously, she will have to choose which events she will contest, but her time of 5:19 in the 1600m is her most impressive personal best.
