Roxy Unruh of Cheyenne Wells High School has been breaking 1A state records for a long time now, and she did not disappoint this year. Not only did Unruh win the 100m, 200m, and the 400m, but she also set state meet records in all three of the events. Her times of 12.29, 25.58, and 56.45 were also personal best marks and she would have placed well in many of the other classifications. The crazy thing is she is only a junior, so we will get one more season of Unruh breaking records and shooting for the three peat once again.

On the distance and hurdles side, there was an interesting battle with Delaney Bond of Cheraw and Brooklyn Sutter of Merino. For Sutter, who is the traditional distance runner, she was able to easily take the title in the 3200m. For Bond, who decided to take on the hurdles events, she finished 4th overall in the 100m hurdles and took the victory in the 300m hurdles. These two went head-to-head in the 800m and the 1600m.
