Colorado high school track and field athletes posted several personal records at meets held April 20-25.
Xavier Gillispie, Doherty High School: Gillispie jumped 22-1.5 to win the long jump at the Colorado Springs All City Meet on April 20, improving from his previous best of 20-1.5 set earlier in the year. The sophomore ranks #23 in Colorado and #2 among sophomores in the state! Gillispie also set personal records in the high jump (6-1, up from 5-10) and triple jump (43-4, up from 42-4.5) at the same meet.
Eliza Stewart, Loveland High School: Stewart ran 12.76 in the 100 meters at the 53rd Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational on April 24, placing 14th out of 57 competitors! The senior improved from her previous personal record of 13.51 set earlier in the season and now ranks #103 in Colorado and #37 among seniors.
Aiden Gomez, Widefield High School: Gomez won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.09 at the District 2 Invitational on April 25, defeating 10 other competitors! The sophomore dropped more than a second from his previous best of 17.15 set in April 2026 and ranks #80 in Colorado and #13 among sophomores. Gomez also ran a personal record 43.20 in the 300-meter hurdles, improving from 43.22.
Royce Martinez, Greeley Central High School: He ran 51.65 in the 400 meters to finish third at the Weld County Championships on April 25. The runner improved from a previous personal record of 56.68 and ranks #137 among 2,787 Colorado athletes in the event!
Alex Horton, Kent Denver School: Horton ran 14.05 in the 100-meter hurdles at the 53rd Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational on April 24, placing third out of 41 competitors! The senior broke the school record while improving from her previous best of 14.74 set earlier in April and ranks #3 in Colorado and #3 among seniors.
Finn Higgins, Grandview High School: Higgins cleared 6-5 to win the high jump at the Huskie Twilight meet on April 20. The sophomore improved four inches from his previous personal record of 6-1 set in April 2026 and ranks #12 in Colorado and #1 among sophomores!
Ryder Green, Rocky Mountain High School: He threw 138-4 in the discus at the Longmont Invitational on April 24, placing 11th out of 54 competitors. The freshman improved from his previous best of 124-11 and ranks #75 in Colorado and #3 among freshmen!
Abby Leibman, Roosevelt High School: She ran 59.15 in the 400 meters to finish second at the Weld County Championships on April 25. The senior improved from her previous personal record of 1:02.45 set in March and ranks #53 in Colorado and #23 among seniors!
Sloane Davis, Castle View High School: Davis ran 11:14.31 in the 3200 meters at the 53rd Liberty Bell Track and Field Invitational on April 24, finishing seventh out of 36 competitors. The freshman improved from her previous best of 11:38.33 set in March and ranks #43 in Colorado and #8 among freshmen!
Francescca Zapparoli, Rock Canyon High School: She cleared 11-9 to win the pole vault at the Huskie Twilight meet on April 20. The senior improved seven inches from her previous personal record of 11-2 and ranks #8 in Colorado and #5 among seniors!
