Fort Collins High School's 4x100m Relay: They ended the season with a 2nd place finish for Class 5A at the state meet, running a time of 41.37! However, throughout the season, the team broke many records, including the school record and a Colorado all-time #5 ranking, running 40.97 for their season best mark.
Jackson Conroy, Loveland High School: Conroy was the fastest 110m hurdler of the season, running a wind-aided 13.40 but also running a new personal best mark of 13.54! Though his state meet did not go as planned, Conroy still went undefeated in the regular season, showing his dominance in the event.
Preston Mozer, Fort Collins High School: Mozer was a crucial member for Fort Collins in the relays, but also produced some strong personal best times as well. He ran 21.35 for the 200m and 47.25 in the 400m - dangerously close to Fort Collins High School's school record, and he is only a sophomore! He placed 7th overall in the 200m at the Class 5A state meet and finished 2nd overall for the 400m, where he ran his new personal best.
Owen Hays, Roosevelt High School: Hays was one of the most well-rounded athletes, with strong PRs in everything from the 100m to the 800m and both hurdles events. He ran 10.73 in the 100m, 21.54 in the 200m, 48.79 in the 400m, 1:59 in the 800m, 13.64 in the 110m hurdles, and 36.14 in the 300m hurdles! He set a new Colorado prep record in the 300m hurdles this season and won two state titles for Class 4A in the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles! He also placed 3rd in the 200m.
Antheney Herre, Thompson Valley High School: Herre came away with personal best times in all three distance events this season, running 1:55 for the 800m, 4:12 for the 1600m, and 9:15 in the 3200m! Herre ran in the most competitive class for distance running in Class 4A and placed 4th overall in the 3200m with that new personal best! He also helped his team to a 2nd place finish in the 4x800m relay, running a time of 7:38 and finishing under the Colorado Prep record.
DJ Ruff, Fort Collins High School: Ruff ran the fastest time in the 200m for the state of Colorado and was the only athlete to break 21 seconds for the season, running 20.92! Ruff also ran 10.52 for the 100m, which was one of the fastest times in the state for that event. Besides helping his team to Colorado prep records and state meet records in the relays, Ruff finished 3rd overall in the 200m!
Tayber Konrad, Roosevelt High School: Konrad hit a huge personal best mark in the shot put at the state meet to place 3rd overall throwing 57-2! Throughout the season, Konrad threw very consistently, throwing over 55 feet throughout the spring. Konrad also threw a personal best mark of 139-6 in the discus.
Noah Gustafson, Fossil Ridge High School: Gustafson ended the season with personal bests in the 110m hurdles, the 300m hurdles, and the triple jump, finishing on the podium at the state meet for Class 5A in all of the events! He ran a wind-aided time of 14.41 in the 110m hurdles to finish 5th overall and ran 14.31 for his personal best time. He then ran 38.34 for his PR in the 300m hurdles in the preliminary round and finished 9th overall in the event. Finally, he jumped a wind-aided mark of 46-1.75 in the triple jump to place 5th overall.
Fort Collins High School's 4x400m Relay: Fort Collins High School ran one of the better 4x400m relays of the season for the whole state of Colorado, running 3:18! Though they chose to pursue their A squads for the 4x100m relay and the 4x200m relay at the state meet (where they broke the Colorado prep record in the 4x200m relay), the team still did well in the relay throughout the season.
Tavion Cross, Mesa Ridge High School: Cross improved immensely throughout the season in the long jump, starting off the year with a mark of 20-2 and hitting a huge personal best mark of 23-5.75, ranking him as one of the top long jumpers in the state with that PR! Though he was unable to make finals at the state meet, Cross has another year to improve and hit even better and more consistent marks!
Jay McDonald, Summit High School: McDonald hit some of the fastest times in the state of Colorado in the distance events, including a new Class 4A state meet record in the 800m of 1:48! He was only a few tenths of second away from breaking the Colorado Prep record in the event. He also ran 4:06 in the 1600m earlier in the season, which was only two seconds away from the prep record! Finally, he placed 2nd overall in that event at the state meet.
