4A: What Marks Made it to State?

For distance runners qualified for multiple state events, the 3200 seems to be the preferred state event to scratch--just not for Heather Bates, Sydney Scott, or Allie Parks. Photo by Alan Versaw.

The analysis of what it took to get to state this year continues with the 4A classification.

Below you see three columns of data. The first column is the cut-off mark for reaching the top 18 in 4A in each of the 37 high school track and field events for Colorado. The second column is the cut-off mark for participating in the state meet after all scratches were made. And, of course, the third column is the number of scratches from the state meet in each event. This last column would represent only the number of scratches indicated by Sunday, May 15. It does not include empty lanes at the state meet.
