Just like the boys, the girls also produced some impressive results with one national champion and a handful of other podium finishes! Check out how the girls did down in Florida at the Under Armour Track and Field National meet!
Braelyn Bailey, Roosevelt High School: Bailey joined her teammate in Hays by winning the national title in the high jump competition, getting over the bar at 5-8.75! She also placed 8th overall in the long jump with a very strong effort of 18-7.75! Bailey also ran 15.57 in the 100m hurdles.
Sydney Ludington, Roosevelt High School: Ludington may be an underclassmen, but still performed exceptionally well in the distance events running 2:16 in the 800m to place 13th overall! She also ran 5:04 for the full mile, placing 15th overall.
Ruby Naber, University High School: Naber backed up her strong state meet performance where she won both the long jump and the triple jump for Class 3A. At the Under Armour National meet, she placed 2nd overall in the triple jump, hitting a mark 39-7.75!
Elizabeth Roberts, Roosevelt High School: After placing on the podium in both the 1600m and the 3200m for Class 4A, Roberts competed in the two mile, where she ran 11:18, placing 10th overall! She also ran 5:27 in the mile, finishing 35th.
Makaylee Meyer, Roosevelt High School: Meyer competed in the pole vault and was able to get on the podium with an 8th place finish! She got over the bar at 11-3.75, which was only a few inches off of her personal best of 11-10.
Riley Watson, Peak to Peak Charter School: Watson threw in both throwing events after she placed well at the Class 3A state meet. She threw the discus115-0, which was within 10 feet of her PR. She also threw the shot put 32-8.5, which was only a couple feet from her personal best!
