Eleanor Fulton to Compete in Saturday's Dream Mile

Eleanor Fulton will be competing in the High School Girls' Dream Mile this Saturday at the adidas Grand Prix.  This meet is one of the premier track and field meets in the world, featuring many of the top athletes preparing for next year’s Olympics. It is held at Icahn Stadium located on Randall Island in the heart of New York City. It will be televised this Saturday on NBC.


Fulton, from Highlands Ranch High School, captured eight track state titles in her high school career.  In her specialty, the 1600, she won the 5A state title all four years. This past season, she completed the “Triple Crown,” winning the 800, 1600, and 3200. Her times in all three events were the fastest  for all classes in Colorado. She also completed her career undefeated in the 1600.


The Dream Mile features twelve of the top high school milers from the country. Last year Fulton finished sixth as the only junior competing in the prestigious event. Also included in the field this year are notables such as Alli Billmeyer of California, Amy-Eloise Neale of Washington, and Haley Pierce of Delaware. The race is scheduled to start at 3 PM MDT on Saturday.


Fulton has twice represented the United States in international youth competitions will be attending the University of Washington in the fall on a scholarship for cross country and track.
