It may not be a little-known fact, but it is an underappreciated fact, that Niwot co-hosts the St. Vrain Invitational with Lyons. And, while Niwot has given out a few ribbons and plaques to their own athletes over the years, most of the awards have left Boulder County.

This year was a little different. Between Nick Harris and Elise Cranny, the Cougars swept the individual titles in the 4A/5A division of the St. Vrain Invitational. Harris's win went right down to the wire, with the Niwot ace barely fighting off Ben Forsee of Broomfield.

Cranny came onto the track with 300 meters to go with a bit more of a cushion, though hers was no leisurely trip to the finish line. Cranny made sure the meet title didn't come into question.
