One of the cool things about track and field is that there are only a few thousand ways to analyze the sport. Baseball, allegedly the "thinking man's game," has nothing on track and field.

One way of looking at track and field is through the lens of relays. In Colorado, there are nine sanctioned relay events, five for girls and four for boys. You may wonder why one more for girls than for boys, but that analysis falls beyond the scope of this article.

What does fall within the scope of the article is, "Who has the best relays programs in the state, and how would you go about measuring that?"
