It's always nice to see an unfamiliar team on the roster of schools coming to a meet. Running against the same schools and the same athletes week after week after week gets a little stale. So, it was with eager anticipation I noted Durango's entry in Saturday's Palmer Terror Invitational.

Durango didn't bring that many athletes. Coach Mark Dutro told me it was only 10 athletes. But those 10 made a very strong impression.

The meet was barely underway before Durango's girls 4x800 team took over the lead on the second leg of the relay. It took two no-holds-barred legs from TCA's Shelby Stableford and Regan Mullen to run the Demons down before TCA won a five second victory in the event, 9:51 to 9:56.
