When you've coached and written about cross country as long as I have, there are certain teams you learn not to be hasty about writing off. Crested Butte is on my short list of such teams. Whether it's training at serious elevation, a can-do spirit in the community, or some other factor I just wouldn't understand, the Titans almost always find a way to be competitive before all is said and done.

After a tough finish to last year's season, the Crested Butte girls may be flying under the radar to start this season, but I'm willing to go all the way out on a very short limb and suggest that this is a team that other folks in 2A need to be taking into account.
