2012 is shaping up to be a watermark year for girls cross country in Colorado, and while the justifiably predominant amount of attention has focused on the fireworks in 5A, the 4A division promises to be as competitive and high quality as any in recent memory.
As proof, a look at virtual team times indicates that there are already as many sub-1:40 teams this year heading into the postseason as there were at the end of last year (when many top teams and individuals went to NXN-SW, Footlocker MW and the like). Similarly, 13 girls have already broken 19:00 when only 15 did all of 2011.
