The number of schools fielding complete girls teams in 2A is a limiting factor in how competitive this race will be. Right now, it would appear that Hotchkiss holds the early edge, and not just by a little bit.

1. Hotchkiss - Natalie Anderson and Jennifer Celis get one more year. And the younger set of Mae Anderson, Sophia Schelle, and Tiffany Clock just might come back better than this year. If there are chinks in the armor, they're not apparent from a casual inspection.

2. Lyons - The Lions take a hit with the dual graduations of Olivia Raspotnik and Kelsey Miner. Lyons figures to be a solid team once again, but it's hard to keep up with the Andersons when you're losing two of your better runners from this year.
