Ares Reading was a huge addition for Niwot this fall and a key piece of the Cougar puzzle next fall.

2017 In Review

The season just completed saw perhaps the most competitive year of 4A Boys cross country that Colorado has ever known. If you didn't go five deep in a serious sort of way, you simply weren't in the title hunt.

Ultimately, it came down to a battle royal between Palmer Ridge, Centaurus, and Silver Creek, and the experience of the Bears paid dividends in the form of yet another state title for Palmer Ridge.

Looking Ahead to 2018

You can read the story of the virtual meets of returning numbers here. As we've noted before, that's a good place to begin, but not such a good place to be end. There's more to the story than what just the virtual meets will tell you.

This much we can say: with everyone that's coming back in the ranks of 4A Boys, you can reasonably expect another year of tight and spirited competition. Not all of this year's key teams figure (as least not yet) as key teams next year, but it's not like anything is starting over from scratch.

On the pages that follow, we take a team-by-team look at the teams that project as the top contenders for 2018. Simply click on Next to step through the pages. And we begin with Palmer Ridge--this year's defending champions.
