Easton Allred's 15:10 is the fastest time in the state this season.
We had quite a few meets that saw some fast times, and they weren't all in Colorado. A few schools opted for the scenic drive east to Kansas. So this week's list includes some "sea level" times.
As quiet or discrete as it may have been, we can't talk about fast times from the weekend without mentioning Easton Allred.
Varsity or not...
The fastest junior varsity runner in Colorado history dropped a 15:10 at Dave Sanders in the Open Race. Adding to the feat is the fact that his 15:10 currently ranks him No. 12 in the country - without an altitude conversion.
Not only was it faster than his 15:17 from Liberty Bell, but it's the fastest time run by any Coloradan this season - in state, or out of state. It begs the question: can Allred break 15 in Colorado?
Speaking of times run out of state, Colorado was well represented at the Rim Rock Farm Classic in Kansas.
Thompson Valley's Dylan Schubert nearly gave Colorado a victory by running a massive personal best of 15:17 to finish second. Legend's Ryan S Johnson nabbed a PR as well, running 15:40 to finish seventh. Henry Barth was the third Coloradan to cross the line, finishing in 15:44 just off his PR.
Back in Colorado David Cardenas dropped eight seconds off his PR with a 15:45 win at the Anna Banna Invite.
All in all 10 runners broke 15:50 this weekend, and 83 broke 17.
