Name: Dakota Leazer

High School: Fountain Fort Carson HS

Signing With: Columbia University

What clinched the decision for the school you signed with:
I've been in contact with the coaches from Columbia since nearly September 1st of my junior year, and throughout the entire recruiting process, I haven't found a more encouraging, supportive, or friendly coaching staff. On my visit in October, I found the team to be equally amazing and fell in love with the campus, the city, and the idea of attending Columbia.

Your favorite high school track event:
300m Hurdles

Your favorite high school athletic memory:
As much as I want to say that winning the 300m state title or winning the 5a state team title is one of my favorite athletic memories, I simply can't. Instead, I must first say that having the opportunity to attend FFCHS and run track under some of the greatest coaches and athletes in Colorado is one of the luckiest experiences I could have ever had. For over 3 years, I have been surrounded and mentored by some of the best athletes in Colorado and being able to train and support and be supported by athletes such as Markesh WoodsonJJ Mathis, Brandon Parson, Solyde Bankston, Trey Talley, Yahna Harris, Alex Waltenbaugh,  and Chelsie Horton, among others, has truly been a blessing and has defined my favorite athletic memories.
